Our friends, Chad & Felicia, decided to visit Fredericksburg to celebrate 11 years of marriage/Valentine's day and they invited us to tag along. Fredericksburg, or "little Germany," is an adorable quaint town filled with shops, restaurants, and WINE! They have what is know as the 290 Wine Trail which is home to 15 award winning wineries (hence the "logo")
TRAVEL FUN:
On a road trip, it's important to remember that the journey is just as important as the destination, so have fun and make unplanned stops! One of ours was at a place called Antiques Salvage- There were treasures everywhere we looked and apparently this is where Santa goes on his off season
WHERE WE STAYED:
WHERE WE STOPPED, SHOPPED, ATE, & DRANK:
Since the theme of this trip was wine, instead of listing the attractions separately from where we ate & drank, they'll be cataloged together in the order in which we did them:
The tour was not only interesting but they give you samples of alcohol throughout it, making it feel like a party. The bourbon is delicious {according to Cody, I can't hang}, the grounds littered with photo opportunities, & the employees were fun & full of knowledge {Granted, I'd be a lot more fun at work if I could drink on the clock too}. If you're in the area, we highly suggest you add this to your bucket list
We were hoping to make it to 4 but we were only able to make it to the below 3 wineries
(speaking of 3, that's how many rings I lost- see if you can spot when I lost them) STOP 1:
The tour began with us getting into a "stretch" golf cart and driven to the back of the property where we explored two building. The 1st was all about their barrels & how they made their wine amazing and the 2nd was where we actually got to sample some wine. The same grape was being aged in 3 different types of barrels & we were supposed to see if we could taste the difference {we could}.

STOP 3:
TRAVEL TOOLS:
"We'd like to give a BIG THANKS to Chad & Felicia for including us on their anniversary / Valentine's day weekend. We had a blast!"

Thank you Lora, it really is a lovely getaway. My favorite is Grape Creek- their wine is great & bistro so yummy (I think their grounds are the prettiest too.) You should grab a handful of ladies and have a fun weekend! :)
