Anyone that knows us knows that we’re picture fanatics, we average 1500 photos every month so Cody’s proposal was probably the most creative, thought out, original, and fantastic idea that anyone has ever had. Ever. The week before Christmas Cody told me he bought us a photo session with one of my favorite photographers, Debbie Porter. I’ve wanted to take portraits with her for a while and her only opening was on Dec. 20th. The night of the shoot he made sure I was pampered. He paid to get my hair styled, my nails manicured, and made sure I had plenty of time to pick my outfits and get to Debbie’s studio. The session started out with me taking a few solos: and then we took a few couple shots: While I was changing for our next round of photos, I thought he was taking his solo shots, but in reality he was preparing and hiding the ring under the bench we were to be sitting on. Once on the bench Debbie posed us together, she rested my head on his chest and took a few open eyed shots then instructed me to close my eyes. After a few frames she asked me to open them and when I did there was an open ring box right before my eyes. I was SHOCKED, I wasn’t expecting it at all so my reaction was not to look at Cody. He then came around, went on bended knee, expressed his feelings for me, and then asked if I would be his wife. I answered, "OF COURSE!" but once the shock wore off I whispered, “you must be really lucky!” {an inside joke we've had for years} and then we kissed. Debbie never stopped snapping photos and captured the entire even {obviously or we wouldn't have the above photos}, it was amazing! We took some engagement photos as an added bonus After we wrapped up our the session I proceeded to do what every girl does and call up her entire family, but no one answered. Not one sole. I was disappointed but Cody was able to contact his parents who invited us to have drinks at El Palenque. Still not being able to get a hold of anyone in my family I agreed to go meet up with his, and to my surprise when we walked in to the back room of the restaurant, both our entire families yelled "SURPRISE!" The threw us an engagement party; it was the perfect way to end our night.
