Today was our first day back to work since Christmas Eve {we had 11 days off of pure bliss} and I’m at war with my eyelids, so much that it inspired me to write a haiku: Eyelids are heavy We had a lot planned for our stay-cation; we were going to view the Monet exhibit at the Museum of fine Arts, visit the Holocaust Museum, & tour the historical Beth-Israel Cemetery {which is the oldest Cemetery in Houston as well as the resting place for all my ancestors}. Our holiday itinerary also included getting the house in order by putting up Christmas decorations, heavy cleaning, and taking clothes to the donation center BUT what we ACTUALLY ended up doing was epic... Instead of doing all of the above things, we did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING! We stayed up until 4 am, slept until noon {or later}, didn't change out of our PJs unless it was absolutely necessary, we watched almost all four seasons of Raising Hope on Netflix {which is hilarious, you need to watch it if you haven’t started already}, took tons of naps, spent time with our family, & a lot of time with our kick *beep* neighbors! It. Was. Magical. We literally slept the entire first day of the new year away by not waking up until 5:30 PM {and I'm not even a little bit ashamed}.
